For quite a while one thing has baffled some gamers, why has the 360 not got an Internet browser, especially with Microsoft having it's own.

The answer to this according to Aaron Greenberg, Xbox 360 product manager, is that the experience of browsing the web on a TV is a poor one

He says the 360 team is dedicated in optimising web experiences for the living room claiming that is what they did with Netflix.

He also added No disrespect, there's things I love about the PS3, but that's not one of them. We want the online experience to be fun and optimized for the living room, and we'll continue to add more applications to get more richness.

[posthidden]I personally can agree that the 360 doesn't need a browser, I have a laptop which is much more ideal for browsing. Rarely have I used the PS3 or Wii browser but then again I've hardly used Facebook or Twitter on the 360...[/posthidden]

I don't know, sometimes I think I wish I did have a browser on the 360, like when someone is on my PC and I am forced to the Xbox for a few hours... such a punishment... but then i'd like to just check on things not like fully use it and expect it to work flawlessly.

If you ask me, things like Last.FM, Facebook, Twitter and Netflix - yeah they are flashy and cool, but it's a lot more effort for them... you could say that thats a good thing because they are willing to go through that effort to release them but I think there is an underlying issue, and that is security.

Still, it's not like you can't browse the web with your 360 if you know how... I'll give you a clue - Windows Media Centre!
