Well as the title of this article suggests, is a new Xbox console finally in talks and development, well it would seem so even though Microsoft apparently say they have no more ideas for a console for many more years saying the life of the 360 is enough to compete onwards for many more years to come.

But today Microsoft may have to eat there own words because after much digging a company website named Fudzilla has found out that Microsoft have recently agreed and signed upon a deal for AMD/ATI to create there next graphics chip and GPU saying they want the next console to feature backwards compatibility.

So it appears that a new Xbox is definitely on the horizon even though nothing has been announced yet or designs have been drawn up, a graphics chip and processor is now definitely being made which will mean a new console could hit around 2011 or early 2012, so are we to expect an official announcement at next years E3 event where most new consoles get officially announced?

with natel coming i doubt it will be announced anytime soon.

anyway a new GPU is amazing news since its the rrod cause
rrod is caused by multiple design problems with the system not just the gpu many people think that if a new xbox is made it will be for many reasons as an extra reason to bundle natal with it meaning natal wont flop.

So i belive that this could very well happen seeing as nintendo sort of let the cat out of the bag with the wii 2 coming in the next 2 years.

Microsoft and sony will have to pull there fingers out and make new machines else nintendo will run away with the profits again as they did with the wii.

Only if the Wii2 is any good. The Wii is just a Gamecube with motion controllers and a few enhancements here and there so they are going to have to make it even better.

As for the RROD, it is specifically caused by the heat sync in your Xbox coming loose, your Xbox isn't actually broke - it just won't you play because otherwise it might cause further damage because the heat sync isn't working. If you take the time to look on eBay for RROD repair kits you can fix them yourself in about 20 mins if you know how (most of which is just running it to see if its fixed), might take you an hour or so if your unsure... but they cost peanuts to buy and it comprises of only a few small things... namely an X-Clamp which is what is used to clamp your heat-sync back into place to make it work again. If you aren't bothered about voiding your warranty then it might be worth looking into this in advance so you don't get the error in future.

It's funny though because eBay is littered with RROD'd Xbox's which cost hardly anything to buy and to fix yourself... so it's a cheap way to get your hands on an Xbox.
well the wii 2 as been said to come back with the motion senstivity stuff but take it one more step further and to be somehow better then natal but there going to go with the current gen of graphics supported on the 360 and ps3 and mix in the hi def stuff as well to make the wii 2, so if you ask me nintendo will still be a generation behind but wont it wont matter to them cause casual gamers will still go and buy it.

As for the rrod yer its true its alot to do with the heatsync but other problems like the E74 can be the cause of the rrod aswell other reasons are to do with other hardware failures such as lasers getting worn out and stuff.

As x2i said though the clamp is the most common factor at the moment though

Well JAYBO was the one who told me about the RROD and from I can remember I think what I wrote is pretty much correct, there may be other factors involved but yeah if your looking at wanting to repair one yourself, search the web or ask someone who knows properly... we don't want people opening up Xboxes and messing them up completely do we lol.

i was about to fix it myself one day but i heard microsoft wont do any repairs or support on modded 360s and ship them back to you. so if my 360 breaks another way like falls i'm toast.

im just gonna buy an elite. and yes i got the rrod.
as it currently stands at the moment if your warrenty does run out and if you do crack open the case to try and fix it yourself then you can indeed phone microsoft up to repair your console cus there gonna get paid either way so its no bother to them.

fuinny how this conversation turned into rrod other then a new xbox on the horizon tho
