Last Friday Square Enix, Eidos-Montréal, and Crystal Dynamics revealed the full trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider,
the latest entry in the critically acclaimed and award-winning Tomb Raider series. This time Lara must master a deadly jungle, overcome terrifying tombs, and persevere through her darkest hour. As she races to save the world from a Mayan apocalypse, Lara will be forged into the Tomb Raider she is destined to be. We knew this was coming as the game was leaked a couple of months ago.
We also get our first trailer for the game and it looks fantastic, it obviously shows no gameplay but if the game looks anything like this first trailer it will look phenomenal on Xbox One X. We see Lara use her bow, pickaxe, and a series of traps to take down some bad guys, jump around the jungle and get beat up while doing it. She really deserves a medal for most beat up character in video game history. Check it out here:
Also take a look at what Yosuke Matsuda, president and representative director of Square Enix Holdings Co., Ltd., had to say about it:
“Thanks to their incredible expertise, knowledge of the franchise and outstanding creativity, Eidos-Montréal, in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics, is delivering a powerful experience with Shadow of the Tomb Raider… Shadow of the Tomb Raider will
take the series to new heights and Lara Croft to new depths.”
As well as David Anfossi, Head of Studio at Eidos-Montréal:
“Shadow of the Tomb Raider will challenge Lara Croft in new and unexpected ways…Our team has created a diverse set of skills, combat techniques and equipment for players to master, and they’ll certainly need them if they hope to survive the deadly jungle environments and tombs.
The game looks immaculate but we will have to wait and see it keeps the amazing looks as Shadow of The Tomb Raider will be available on September 14, 2018 for the Xbox One family of devices, including Xbox One X.
