Campo Santo, the developers behind Firewatch, has announced in a recent blog post that it has been acquired by Valve over the weekend. However the team at Campo Santo says not to expect to much change in games and releases.
The team will be relocating to Bellvue, Washington which is the only major change we should see. In the blog post, the devs have stated that they will be maintaining their jobs and will continue to work on its current project, 'In the Valley of Gods', which is currently just a PC only title, hopefully one day it will come to Xbox.
Campo Santo also says the following, "In Valve we found a group of folks who, to their core, feel the same way about the work that they do (this, you may be surprised to learn, doesn’t happen every day). In us, they found a group with unique experience and valuable, diverse perspectives. It quickly became an obvious match." Continuing to finish with the following, "Yes, we’re still making In the Valley of Gods (as a Valve game!); yes, we’ll still support Firewatch; and yes, we’ll still produce The Quarterly Review and our regular blog content. Thanks so much for your interest in our games and we’ll see you in Washington. Cheers."
I’m excited to say the least hopefully we will see In the Valley of the Gods ported over or even a brand new title, only time will tell.
