Rebellion today has finally provided a release date for the long awaited semi-follow up to their VR only title Battlezone.
Battlezone: Gold Edition is essentially Battlezone with a few extra perks but it now no longer requires VR to play the game. Furthermore to this the title is coming to Xbox One on May 1st.
Rebellion had this to say on the matter of formally announcing the game details and release date: Delivering a procedurally generated campaign for 1-4 players and ensuring no two playthroughs are the same and with drop-in, drop-out online co-op play, Battlezone brings back one of gaming's icons like never before.
Battlezone Gold Edition includes the game and all the additional content ever released for it. That's all the tank skins, bobbleheads, and horns, as well as the fantastic Classic Mode based on the original's iconic 80s arcade Cabinet.
When the game launches on May 1st it will be priced at £29.99 / $34.99 respectively.
