A rumor has been popping up everywhere suggesting that new Call of Duty game will not include a singer player campaign but will only have multiplayer and zombies modes. There are some smaller rumors about a Battle Royale mode which has come very popular due to the rise in popularity by Fortnite and PUBG.
There's no official word as of yet from Treyarch or Activision but sources claim that the reason the devs are looking to ditch the single-player experience is due to the team being unable to complete it in time for launch. Instead, it will be focusing its resources on replacing it with coop modes and focusing on making the multiplayer experience as pristine as possible. Probably to avoid similar issues that WWII first had on launch when players tried to hop into multiplayer
This rumor began with Polygon sources saying Treyarch would be ditching the single player campaign in their upcoming game as the players are focusing on multiplayer modes. While Kotaku sources were the one saying the game will include a Battle Royale mode.
Despite all the rumors flying around Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be heading to Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 12th. I’m sure we will get a trailer at this year’s E3.
