Xbox One to be Backwards Compatible Bring your Xbox 360 Games over2 years ago
During Microsoft's E3 presentation today, they announced that they will be fulfilling one of the most requested things about the Xbox One - they will be making the Xbox One console compatible with Xbox 360 games.
Starting from later today, Xbox One Preview Program members will be able to start playing from 100 games from the Xbox 360 library (which are listed at the bottom of this article), with new titles being added every month - presumably until the entire roster of titles are available. Non-preview members will have to wait until near the end of 2015.
What's better is that all games that you currently own will be free to play - no need to purchase them again!
Not only that but you will also have the added capabilities to be able to broadcast and stream your gameplay to Twitch or Windows 10, to use the game DVR and screenshot features, access your previous game saves and achievements that have carried over and also play multiplayer with other Xbox 360 and Xbox One gamers.
Any of the games you own below digitally will automatically appear in your games list on Xbox One ready to install, any disc based versions will need to have the disc inserted to verify that you own the game, and then you can begin to download it - you must have the disc in at all times though just to prove it's your copy if this is the case.
