Recently, Rocksteady Studios/Warner Brothers announced that their new game will be released with a season pass. However something that caught my attention was the price $40/£30, which is the most expensive season pass out on the market. Current prices of video games seem to be on the rise and it seems that Rocksteady are capitalising on that with their season pass. There is a lot of content in this season pass and it is probably justified, however there has been a heavy amount of customer backlash on the subject of pricing. Buying the standard edition of the game will put you back $60/£50, adding the season pass you're looking to spend around $100/£80. This with the possibility of even more content. Don't get me wrong it'll probably be a great game but consumers may not want to pay an extortionate amount for more content. Development costs with AAA games are more intense and produced to a higher quality in this console generation. However, there needs to be a compromise to keep its appeal and make people want to spend their money. Microtransactions in games has always been a questionable subject for me, some companies blatantly, by extortionate approaches, offer DLC in the means to take your money. I personally don't mind buying DLC, but only if it adds something to the experience, and of course if the price was justified. Is this season pass worth the price? I'll let you decide that but I think I might wait for a price drop to consider buying the season pass, a review of the game will be available closer to release date. Season pass content is listed below: Batgirl: A Matter of Family The Season of Infamy Gotham City Stories Legendary Batmobiles with Themed Tracks Crimefighter Challenge Maps Character Skins
