EA, also known as Electronic Arts, have released some statistics on their latest Shooter game, entitled Battlefield 3. Battlefield has been the long awaited game that is supposedly to beat Call of Duty, however do the stats show that?

Battlefield 3 sold 1 million copies in the first 7 days of being released, which makes it the fastest selling game in EA history. The game has 2.5 million likes on Facebook and 200,000 followers on Twitter. EA have also released more stats, that come directly from the game, players have executed 73 million savior kills, 48 million revives and destroyed 67 million vehicles.

However on the other hand, Call of Duty Black Ops, sold 5.6 million copies in the first 24 hours of being released. Modern Warfare 3 is still to be released, do you think Battlefield will beat this game, sales wise?

I think MW3 is gonna thrash these figures.. which is a shame because BF3 is a fantastic game. I think a lot of people are too caught up in the COD series though unfortunately, i.e. The FanBoys. Most of these people won't even give a different shooter a go let alone another genre.

Don't get me wrong though, I love the COD series as much as any Fanboy, but ive always preferred and enjoyed the solo part of the MW games, whereas the multiplayer not so much. It's OK, but it always feels like its the same old, same old to me. Just with a couple of new perks and a new laser sight lol. (Obviously probably nothing like that but that's just what it feels like).

But saying that, in my honest opinion, I think this is where the sales come from.. the Multiplayer side of it. I dont think most Fanboys (I actually don't like using that word but its all i can think of sorry) have even tried the single player side of the COD series. I know LOADS of people who literally just bought a console and MW2 or Black Ops just for online play.

But if most of those people tried and persevered with games like Bad company 2 or Battlefield 3 online, I think alot of people would probably switch sides, as I feel its definetly the superior of the two.. but I guess some people really don't like change.. and or my opinion LOL

But then like I said, thats just my opinion. I guess it is nice to know this is EA's fastest selling game in EA History that's got to mean something right? ]1[/br]
