With Kinect enabling alot of training coach style games, one was missing. Enter Ubisoft, who have announced that they are releasing My Self Defence Coach. It will be exclusive to Kinect on the Xbox 360. The overall aim of this title is to not only provide a fitness factor, but to also help build peoples own self confidence when facing certain situations. The game will teach various forms of self defence to help people defend themselves from physical assault.
Like most forms of self defence, players will be taught the key principles: technique, stamina, composure and reflexes. Thanks to Kinect, players will receive instant feedback on their movements, and this will then help them improve upon areas which they are struggling in. As with most training coach games, real-life experts are involved to make the experience as real as it can be.
Players will also be getting into shape as they train their self defence, using routines from kickboxing and martial arts. Mini-games are included to help improve reflexes. As with real-life martial arts, the mind will also be trained and this is in the form of meditative forms of exercise, such as Tai Chi soothing exercises to help people remain calm and relaxed in stressful situations.
The inclusion of a self defence title to the evergrowing list of training games for Kinect is a smart move, as it can help with those who are bullied. My Self Defence Coach will be a mix of fun and training, and ultimately hopes to help players protect themselves. This title is expected to release in the UK on 11th Novemeber,2011.
