Even though Gamestop only had two UK stores across all of England, they have felt the need to shut the doors on both shops. What is the reason behind all of this, well it is quite simple as Gamestop generally feel that the UK market is currently saturated by the likes of Game, Gamestation and Cex.

All is not lost though as with this news comes even greater premise as Gamestop have now shifted all of their resources into their UK website and their goal is to now make awesome deals that other retails and e-tailers have problems matching.

Mike Mauler, Executive Vice President of GameStop International had this to say about the news The goal of the site is to build a strong e-commerce business in the UK. It's the biggest market in Europe for games, and probably the biggest online market as well. We believe we have a unique value proposition for that market and we will take a lot of market share eventually.

So what do you think about all of this then, do you think Gamestop gave it's UK stores a fair chance, especially seeing as they only ever opened two of them. Will you now be checking out their website to see what deals they have, let us know in the comments.

We had Gamestop stores? I mainly use Gamestation, I just seem to prefer it over GAME.
One store was in the Bullring in birmingham and the other was in Merryhill from what i believe. Shame they didnt try to expand as if more people had known about them they surely would have been a bigger competitor to game

If they had one in Ireland, I would imagine they would've closed that one down too.
