Gears of War 3, one of the most anticipated games launching this fall, is the final game in the “EPIC” trilogy, but designer Cliff Bleszinski is already thinking of future Gears projects.

In an interview with Ripten, CliffyB presented his views on the possibility of more Gears titles from a business perspective. He stated, “Gears 1 and 2 sold about 6 million copies, so if this game comes out and, God willing, sells 8 or 10 million it would be completely dumb to not do another one, right? It’s just business 101.”

Concluding that comment, Bleszinski was asked where the series could go. He answered saying, “Well, there’s always the Peter Jackson route,” said Bleszinski. “Do The Hobbit or something like that.”

Does this mean we could be seeing a Gears of War prequel? I can’t help but think how frantic it would be to be playing during the E-day invasion. Where would you like to see the series go after the third game releases? Comment below and let us know!

Only God knows how much I hate this guy. And Lorenzo Lam... I mean Kudo Tsunoda.

Besides, yeah milking the cow dry, like halo franchise!

Plot-wise, a prequel to the trilogy would make the better story of them all (since I've allways believed that storytelling in GoW 1 was weak and two's was just an improbement but still not there, yet epic).

Problem is, he's kinda right. Like the CALL OF DUTY franchise - if you keep buying it - they'll keep churning out another one. Though at least EPIC take more time on their sequels.

I think a prequel would've be the most logical step for the THIRD game and would be the only one of the sequels that I'd want to play. All through the last few games you've gone through grey desolate areas and grey desolate caves and grey desolate wastelands. For the prequel it would be good to see the world before they reduced the palette! A great sign of progress throughout the story would be to watch this bright colorful world slowly decay as the war goes on and eventually lose all it's color and life as the creatures appear. Ah well, we can dream, can't we?

To dream is part of a creative process, sir... something that most devs lack.

The formula is to take something and add stuff, then market it.

A + 1 = B (A2)

B + 1 = C (A3)

Ad nauseam.

So when they say you to buy C you are buying the third installment of A none the less... wich IMHO is sad. Really Sad.

That's why an average game like katherine wich is Qbert + anime vids + perfect blue (anime psichological drama/thriller) looks and feels fresh and new while being just a opile of (well) mashed up concepts.

Criticism to the industry and a review. 2 in one, in a nutshell!
