The June NPD charts are out, and for the second straight month Rockstar’s L.A. Noire comes out on top. Even after horrid reviews, Take 2’s Duke Nukem Forever took the second place spot, while Infamous 2 rapped up the top three.
The Xbox 360 took home the title for best selling console, moving 507k units in June. While PS3 units are unknown, Major Nelson tweeted that the 360 sold “nearly 2x” more units than the next competitor. Nintendo had an unsatisfying month, selling 386,000 Nintendo DS units, 273,000 Wiis, and a paltry 143,000 Nintendo 3DS units.
Overall, gaming software and hardware sales are down from the same month a year ago. This month, though, hardware sales totaled $366.6 million and software sales totaled $469.5 million. Below is the top 10 games for June:
