is a good detective game which had a few minor flaws. Overall the game received positive reviews. The Nicholson Electroplating
case lives up to the standard set by the game and in my opinion, also beats it as well with the size of the crime scene and following investigations. It's an Arson case, and opens with Phelps
talking about the events of the main story. Suddenly there's a big explosion which shakes the whole district and leaves a messy case for the detectives.
This leads into the usual searching for clues phase, only this time the area is a lot bigger due to the size of the explosion. To me this is a good step forward as it isn't the usual cramped rooms with clues near to each other, which makes it more of a challenge to find all the clues (unless you use intuition points to reveal all clues). Further on in the case you also search inside a big hanger which other than clues contains a Spruce Goose
, otherwise known as the Hughes H-4 Hercules
. The case also provides a good car chase and a shootout, which fit in nicely with the story.
While it was a fun case to play, I felt that it was quite short in comparison to the main games cases. During the car chase I experienced a few moments of the game slowing down before fixing itself. I'm unsure if this was due to the DLC or just a frame rate issue from the game itself. Despite this, I feel it's a worthwhile piece of content, especially priced at 320MSP (or free if you have the Rockstar Pass
