Kaos Studios, the developers behind Homefront, have reportedly been shut down today, as Kotaku first dropped the story. An exact reason behind the closure has yet to be announced, but details should be dropping sometime this week from THQ, who owns Kaos.

What does this mean for Homefront? We are really unsure at this point, but even with some lousy reviews, the game sold very well, so a sequel would not surprise us at all - obviously in the hands of another developer.

Don't get me wrong, I also enjoyed the game, and still play it! I believe we gave it an 8 too!

I liked frontlines a lot... I pretty much hate COD series... and lately tried the HOMEFRONT demo and kinda loved it.

Dunno why they bother releasing games knowing beforehand those won't ever beat COD, HALO, GEARS, etc. series and then upon failure (from publisher's perspective) they retreat and kill or abandon their own games.

Space Marine is prone to comparations with the gears of war franchise. And they are releasing Space marine arround the same date Gears 3 will be released.

No matter how good space marine will be (and I guess it will be slightly inferior to GOW3), eben if it turned out to be better, GoW will outsell SM. It take no genius to know that.

Then we'll see THQ lickin' its wounds and moaning about costs and sales... man, it's their fault, they fight againd windmills if you know what I'm saying.

I hope that self injuring phase of THQ passes away and focus on their own products and try clever product placement and nice timing with their release schedules.
