This is all well and good, but why no first one? Gamecube got a remake? It's been ported to the PSP... I wants my MGS fix? :C

sorry but... LOL !!!!

those have been long time last gen-sony only exclusives, that was too funny to me. (I know some of them hitted other consoles like nintendo's and microsoft's but never the whole saga).

I played thru Metal Gear solid part 1 and beat the game like twice back at its time but have to admit now I own no copy of it. It's a pity cause it was the only one I cared about.

I own MGS 2 and 3 and never finished any of them cause the great dissapointment I got. I don't even got to made it to the raiden part in MGS2! In short, MGS 1 while being just a 2D game with 3D graphics it introduced to players not only a movie-like plot, but tons of stuff in terms of gameplay and stuff never seen before (not even after) wich made players to stick to their TVs and relate to the game, like psichomantis, etc.

MSG2 and 3 were IMHO mere follow-ups of the story without what made MSG special.

Still, it's a pity MGS1 isn't included, I'd probably purchased the pack if that was the case even owning the OGs.

I'm not sure about peacemaker. Have no clue about what it was about since I lost track of the series. Anyway being this so, they should at some point remake MSG at least as DLC arcade and MGS4 should do too now the discs will have +1 gb of space and why not, the could use more than just 1 disc like la noire did.

About Silent hill, this might be eben better news... I've only played the 1st one (still own it in mint condition) so it'd be a nice chance to try them other titles too, yet again it sdly feels half-assed since it doesn't feature the 1st installment to the series making it to feel incomplete.

while it does suck that it doesn't contain 1 or 4, that's fine.
1 has already been updated... as for 4, Sony is probably dropping major cash to keep it.

however, Metal Gear Solid 3 is easily the best in the series and i feel it overshadows the rest in almost every way.

as for Silent Hill, you MUST play them.

Tis odd that they've missed off the two arguably BEST titles from each series. Silent Hill truly freaked me out the first few times I played it (Despite the kind of bad graphics), the second was okay but lacked a little something, after that they're all forgettable.

And the first MGS - pure gold. I've already got the special editions of 2 and 3 for the PS2 so there's no REAL need to get THAT pack. :( Yeah, they're good games, but they really don't capture the arcade quality of the first one... it might just be the looooooooooooong cut-scenes!
