Before I get started I want to say no this isnít another Call of Duty game in the long running Franchise, Instead this is the Call of Duty long rumoured service call Call of Duty Elite.

Currently details are scarce and Activison are trying their best to stop all leaks but we are hear to let you in on what we know so far.

Jump over to read more on the new paid for service coming soon to Call of Duty.

A trailer (which can be found below) for Call of Duty Elite was leaked online sometime during the night. What the trailer shows is a new paid for web service for Call of Duty, the service from what we see so far looks to work very much like how Bungies Halo service worked over at Bungie.net.

The features to Call of Duty Elite are pretty simple you pay in for a chance to compete for real prizes amongst other things like:

Form groups and clans
Compete online for prizes
Film sharing
Study maps and weapons
Stat tracking
And additional features

All of this will be available to anybody with access to anybody with access to the internet through a computer, smart phone and even tablet based media.

Not only all of that, but the service will work for all Call of Duty games starting from Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3. Not all the features in this service though will require a subscription cost so I guess there is a silver lining in their somewhere.

To watch the trailer follow the showcase link:

However if you wish to sign up the beta, the sign up link is callofduty.com/elite.... The beta starts this summer and participants will be notified via email before it starts.

UPDATE

Due to some confusion, Activision have clarified that Call of Duty: Elite is infact a free service that requires a monthly subscription for certain features.

This looks sick, we will have to create a group called Xbox Resource!
I shall probably pass on this, i don?t want to pay for something that other company's give for free plus it really doesn?t really bother me that much. Ill stick to the games.

So this is like Halo Waypoint, but not free? Eh, pass. Bungie.com allows you to view all the same things for free. The games and prizes is a little interesting, but I'll keep my wallet closed.
