For the past three to four weeks, gamers have been shotgunning, chainsawing, and sniping their way through the Gears of War 3 beta, but sad to say, the end is near. At 2 AM PDT Monday the 16th, you will be unable to connect to online matches, meaning the beta will be officially over. For those who have played, you have probably unlocked a few items that can be used in the retail game. The main things to do after the beta is to not delete your Gears 3 Beta saved game(s). You can delete the Beta executable itself, but hang on to those saves! Below are the step-by-step directions to delete the Gears 3 Beta, leaving your saves intact:

1) Go to the System Settings menu on your Xbox 360
2) Select “Memory”
3) Select “Games”
4) Select the Gears of War 3 Beta (507MB) and delete it

I think you don't really have to do anything to keep them. It stays by itself unless you are stupid and delete it xD I think he is just showing you how to remove the beta safely since there is no point in having it.
