Back a few weeks ago, Rare (creators of Kinect Sports) announced they were attempting a world record for their latest game, Kinect Sports. The idea of the world record was 'the most people running 100m Sprint at one time'. Today, the results have been announced... It appeared the world record attempt has been successful, as 10,539 people ran 100m at the same time. As a result, every person will be emailed a code for an xboxresource.com/viewavatars.p... within the next week.

Gaz Deaves, editor of the Guinness World Records Gamers Edition 2011 has said:
Congratulations to the crew from Xbox LIVE and most importantly, the thousands of Xbox LIVE members from across the globe who got up off their sofas to create this new Guinness World Record for the largest ever online sprint. The new record will be considered for inclusion in the next Gamer's Edition.

Meanwhile, Kinect Sport's latest DLC has been released. For more information please visit xboxresource.com/viewing.php?t... The DLC costs 320MSP and can be bought marketplace.xbox.com/en-GB/Pro... The pack also comes with 10 new achievements, worth 250 gamerscore.

Congratulations to all who participated in the world record.

I ran the race :D

For some reason tho i think i set my hopes a little high.. i was thinking the results would be at the 100k mark :P but thats only cos it was a worldwide gig and i thought, considering how much of the kinect peripheral were sold.. you would of thought maybe at least a fifth or a quarter may have joined in? :D

But i guess it still is an impressive result.. we hit the 10k mark :D cant wait to get my avatar t-shirt tho and leave it in my avatar wardrobe :P My scre4m outfit aint goin nowhere for a while ;)
