Rumours are circulating as to whether or not Microsoft will be releasing a replacement for the Xbox 360. It all started when they advertised a search for engineers to work on Next-Gen hardware but more recently an online portfolio from one of Microsoft?s Interactive Entertainment Business Design Group mentioned that new hardware is slated for 2015.

Given that by then the Xbox will be 10 years old... it figures that they should be starting to think about what's next for the Xbox pretty soon.

Perhaps the recent Windows Live video we posted up (xboxresource.com/viewing.php?t... might have something to do with it? Just a thought...

I Hope you can keep your gamertags, As i would not like to lose mine because i have a good gamerscore and have donloded a TON of games.

Can't see them throwing all that away - I have a feeling our Gamertags, Gamerscore etc... will be with us til we die. ::CHEESE::
Gamertags, gamerscore and all that will carry over, remember gamertags were on the first xbox which then carried over to the 360, and with microsoft trying to invade everything with xbox and avatar branding i dont think we will see the end of our precious gamerscore just yet.

I do though personally belive that microsoft will be looking into a way to improve on the achievement system before nintendo and sony try to do one better then the current system, by maybe including a long rumoured reward scheme for completed games and what not.

On to xbox news i think we will get an unveiling from the big three at E3 2012 for a release in 2013, nintendo are already working on their wii successor and microsoft wont want to let nintendo walk away with so much ground this time around as they lost out on many profits because of it, and i think sony wont want to make the same mistake they made with the ps3 either.

2014 or 15 is fine with me. They have kept this gen going strong and I feel I have gotten my money's worth. Glad I will still have 3-5 years left with my 360. I see an announcement coming E3 2013.

There's so big backlog (still got tons of sealed games to unwrap and play) that rumors on a new system now might feel a little sad. Still, it's far away and once it happens, 360 prices will drop like hell so no major negative impacto to gamers that don't buy all the latest stuff.
