With the announcement of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood shipping over 6.5 million units worldwide, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed that another AC title is in the works for a late 2011 release window. Along with that confirmation, he went on to say that the title will be announced this May, along with details. No other information on the title came out from the release, other than the fact that it would be a packaged title. Look for more AC news in May.

...and speaking of overmilking IPs...

So, is AC ubisoft's COD then ?

Gotta get deadly premonition before my head explodes (or before EA/Activision releases another sequel, what comes first)

Yeah there does seem to be a lot of Assassins Creed games coming out lately... and besides the one achievement I got in the first one, I have never played any of them... is this bad?

Dunno... never finished the 1st one and never even put the 2nd one on my disc tray yet.

Anyway if you own any, they desevere to be played to their end (even if you have to skip the side quests).

Both AC games are great I know for sure; the 1st one being the 1st game of this generation making everyone go wow! and spiritual successor of Prince of Persia sands of time (combat, mainly) IMHO. It was beauty but way too comtemplative (repetitive tasks) aka boring to some. 2nd installment of the series AFAIK are a great departure from its boring roots; better storytelling, and more stuff going on to keep you hooked.

Then brotherhood came in. I don't know a thing about it other than it shares protagonist and overall setting with the previous one. And hasn't been long since AC2 came out so it all feels like its to the series like a Dragon's Age Awakening more than a Dragon Age II, if this made any sense.

I disagree. Assassins Creed was released with the knowledge that it would be a trilogy. Brotherhood is more like an expansion/multiplayer version of AC2, still worth playing however as it was great fun both single and multi. The series so far has been great fun to play, and the story itself is enjoyable.

Talking to a friend who has played all three, I was like you and he said it's just the contrary... he said Brotherhood is the real deal and AC2 was just an improvement (a great one tho) over the 1st one, so AC2 was really AC 1.5 (more like ODST before reach, than brotherhood being Awakening to DA origins) presenting story and characters to brotherhood.

Interesting point of view he's got.

Anyway, feels like we've having too much AC lately, at least in my book.

Now considering you said it's a trilogy, next AC won't have anything to do with AC2 nor brotherhood nor Ezio, should we call it AC3 then ?

I'm just curious. That could make a great trilogy. I hope it won't fall into prince of persia's fate but I'm afraid it will, looking on how companies are doing lately.

BTW didn't know the trilogy bit, thanks for the info! :)

Given how Brotherhood finished I would say yes, it probably would be Assassins Creed 3. This is just presuming however, not confirmation. Knowing my luck now that I said that it will probably end up being either an Arcade style of AC or one for phones etc. :P
