Some thought that this announcement would never come, especially in 1997, but it finally has. In an official press release, 2K Games and Gearbox Software announced that Duke Nukem Forever will be Set to Kick Ass and Chew Bubblegum on May 3rd of this year. This game's triumphant return is unbelievable after so many years, but now we will be able to finally play the game that never was. In the press release, Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox Software, said, When I said goodbye to 3D Realms and the original Duke Nukem 3D team in 1997 and soon after founded Gearbox Software, I never in my wildest dreams imagined that a day like today would come. Today I am proud, humbled and even astounded to announce that the day is coming at last for all gamers to be a part of video game history: Duke Nukem Forever will launch worldwide this May! Lets just hope that this game doesn't get put on hold for another decade!

Maybe this was never meant to see the light. I mean, almost everyone that played Duke back at those days (yes, not only the 3D one but the first two installments that were 2D action platformers) have fond memories of Duke nukem.

I ilke gearbox's works but sometimes more doesn't mean better. I hope I'm wrong but it looks to me like a hey, economy is getting hard times, we need to sell games to people... whait, what was that game fans were asking for over the past decade ? I meant, in my book, DN Forever has been forever a rumor till someone picked up the title and worked on it so I'm expecting something fun, in the vein of EAT LEAD but nothing groundbreaking here.

By the way, are the rumors true ? SPACE MARINE and ALIENS COLONIAL MARINES being held down due to duke's release ?

I am still unable to believe that the DNF is actually going to be released. I'll probably still be in denial the day stores start selling the game.

I'll still be skeptical when the game is in my hands.
