Welcome to the Castlevania: HD Achievement Guide! This guide will give you some information about the achievements to this game, and hopefully some tips for the more difficult ones. Any feedback or anything to add is greatly appreciated!

Castlevania: Harmony of Despair has a total of 12 achievements, for a total of 200 points. There are no secret achievements, so no spoilers here!

Now, for the achievements themselves:

Bone Cold Justice - 10G
Defeat an enemy by hitting back a Skeleton's bone.
Just do as the achievement says: knock a Skeleton's thrown bone into an enemy and kill it. I can't give too much advice on how to do it, so any input would be appreciated.

Grim Synergy - 10G
Defeat a boss using a Dual Crush.
This is best attempted on Normal Chapter 1 after you've gotten some good equipment, and can also only be done in multiplayer. To activate a Dual Crush, two characters with over 100 MP must be near each other. Each player presses Right Trigger, and the two will unleash a super attack that costs that 100 MP. It'd be best to wear the boss down before using the move.

Lifeguard - 10G
Bring a comrade back from the dead.
This one's easy, though you can only do it in multiplayer. Just pick up a Water of Life from a Blue chest, and when another character dies, go up to their skeleton and use the item when prompted (Right Trigger button).

Slick Kick - 10G
Defeat a boss using sliding.
As with the previous 'defeat a boss' achievement, this is best attempted on Normal Chapter 1. Wear the boss down a bit (have him fall through the floor, in the case of the Chapter 1 boss) and then slide-kick (down on the D-Pad + Jump) him to death from there. You only have to land the slide as the final blow to get the achievement.

Poetic Justice - 15G
Defeat an ally who has been seduced by the enemy.
This one's a toughie, and can only be done in multiplayer. The ONLY enemy in the game that can seduce characters is Dracula, and he can ONLY seduce the female characters (Charlotte and Shanoa). Also, he only uses the seduction attack in his third form, and the seduce status effect only lasts for a limited time. The best thing to do is to have another player get themselves low on health, then dodge attacks until she is seduced by Dracula. That way, you can ensure that you'll be able to kill them in the available period of time.

Vampire Hunter - 15G
Destroy the lord of Castlevania.
Simply defeat Dracula in Normal Mode.

Boned - 20G
Defeat a boss with 5 players in skeleton form.
This is, by far, the hardest achievement to get in this game. In order to get it, you'll need a full six member group online, and A LOT of cooperation. Also, like the other boss achievements, it may be best to do this one on Normal Chapter 1. What you'll want to do is, right before you get to the boss, you'll want everyone but one character get themselves killed. The character that remains alive, however, needs to be good enough to be able to kill a six member boss on his/her own. In addition, those that are skeletons need to be really careful not to get hit or killed; one skeleton death minuses a minute from the clock, and if the same skeleton dies again, it'll be an extra minute from clock each time, so you can quickly find yourself failing if you're not careful. Because of this, it'd likely be best is skeletons don't go in the boss room, so they're less likely to be killed. If you find a group that doesn't mind helping, you can get this achievement with a little time and effort. One more side note: If you're having trouble killing yourself, male characters (Soma, Alucard, Jonathon) can equip the Ancient Armor, which makes it so that you ALWAYS take either 1/4 or 1/5 of your HP every time you're hit (I don't remember which... if anyone knows, that'd be great!), so you can easily commit suicide that way.

Grasshopper - 20G
Jump kick 30 times in a row without touching the ground.
You can do this very easily in multiplayer with a patient partner. Just jump up, then jump kick (down on the D-Pad + Jump in mid-air) on their head 30 times. You can also try this on a boss, but that's a bit tougher. An important note: Charlotte CANNOT jump kick, so you can't unlock the achievement with her.

Pack Rat - 20G
Collect 300 different types of items.
This sounds daunting, but it's not too difficult. Male and female characters have very different armor sets after the first few chapters, so it'd be good to play as both sexes to rack up different items. Also, Alucard and Soma use actual weapons as opposed to the other characters, and their weapons count toward the 300 goal, so it'd be good to play as them, as well. Finally, buying some of the items in the shop that you don't own will help towards that goal, but be careful not to spend too much gold on items you can find in later chapters easily. To the best of my knowledge, souls, spells, subweapons and glyphs DO NOT count towards this total.

Slaughtervania - 20G
Rack up 10,000 enemy kills.
There's not much to say about this one... it takes a while to kill ten thousand enemies. To make your grinding a little less painful, though, here's a reminder: Soma can get souls from almost any enemy in the game by killing them, and can accumulate up to nine of each soul to make the ability you get from it more powerful. If you play as Soma, then you can at least work towards a secondary goal.

Wicked Deep Pockets - 20G
Amass 1,000,000 gold.
This is something you'll likely get if you're working towards the Pack Rat and Slaughtervania achievements. The best advice to give is that you have to make sure to sell duplicates of items you don't need: You only need one copy of most armor, as everyone can equip the same piece, and the limit of any item you can carry is 9. Even the cheapest items will help towards your 1 million goal, so keep selling!

Hunter Legend - 30G
Complete Hard Mode.
When you defeat Dracula on Hard Mode, you get this achievement. I don't have any strategies for beating him, though, so any input would be appreciated.
