It was no surprise that Call of Duty: Black Ops would be the biggest game of 2010, especially with Halo: Reach already on shelves, but the main question was; how would it do against its older cousin, Modern Warefare 2? Activision finally got around to releasing their press release on how their blockbuster title did on its first day, and lets just say it did not disappoint. In only 24 hours on the market in the US and UK, Black Ops amassed over $360 million in product. How many copies you ask? Well, only a measly 5.6 million copies were sold to consumers on November 9th.

Also in the press release was the announcement that Black Ops became the biggest entertainment launch in history, based on dollar value from consumers. The game has been reviewed very well, and already has been called the best single-player of the series. Congrats to Activsion and Treyarch, and you can bet that these guy's work is not close to being over, as they watch the servers closely, and get ready for DLC.
