Okay, not so much news but something I want to get out there to hear from the community, so let's get some discussions about Halo Reach going shall we because, despite having not had much time to play it lately, I have to admit I am half and half about it. Feel free to add your own comments and thoughts, you are all open to your opinions.

Part of me thinks it's just the same as every other Halo but with different options, customisable things and a different storyline, the online is near enough the same but with different classes and firefight is pretty much just taken from ODST but with extra options to create custom games... all it seems like is we have paid for a merge of Halo 3 and ODST but with a new storyline.

But to contradict myself massively one could argue that if the formula works, why change it?
The reason Halo sits atop the most played and most purchased leaderboards is because it is a good game and not much wrong can be said about it unless you just really aren't into Halo - in which your opinions are probably just your own out of hatred anyway.

But in all honesty I am having fun online because of the new maps, weapons and classes... it does bring an air of freshness aside from playing Halo 3 all the time. The campaign is, as ever, another winner in my books and I can't wait til I can blast it on Legendary with some friends.

So what are your opinions on Halo Reach then people...?

I love it. I believe it is the cost balanced multiplayer game bungie put out. Also, with forge world having so much...within months we will see soooo many new things. Things like custom games that are just fun and crazy. The campaign is awesome.epode say there weren't any new fights but I believe there were a ton.

Halo 3 was a complete letdown. They messed everything up completely. The fact that they released the grav hammer and all these different types of 'nades made it even more pants.

Reach, however is everything you need. It's Halo 2 with better graphics. Bungie realised that Halo 3 was a complete flop and went back to old school days. All of the multiplayer maps in Reach have been taken from Halo 2 and personally, they're so much better.

Bungie have got it spot on with Reach and let's hope it stays that way in the future. <3
Anybody who knows me well enough will know that i jumped on the halo bandwagon late, i never got to play 1 or 2.

But never the less i have played them all since then, and as people who know me will know to me halo is just halo, simple as that. I have never found the games to be amazing or the best shooter ever. To me they have just been fun and if not infuriating at times with its uneven style of killing fools in online.

When i got to play reach 4-5 days ahead of release i was the envy of everybody on my friends list and thats alot of people, and when asked what i thought about the game or if it was awsome, my reply to everybody was It's Halo

Again i dont find it absolutly amazing, its graphics are a step up but still not good enough to take on other shooters like bad company or whorefare 2.

I personally also thought the story was a massive flop with some of the later missions just feeling like rehashs or time consumers because they didnt have time to make another level, im looking at you mission 8 the one where you fly all around the city, such a crap level.

The bad aside though its still a fun game co op and nobody can say otherwise, firefight is here but not in the way we remembered with good and bad points with the new mode. Overall i liked the game for the week i played it but now i gotten bored and moved onto other things.

Multiplayer-wise, I agree with Tate. It is balanced, challenging, and over-all fun games I've ever played on Xbox Live. The maps are fantastic, the weapons work just like they feel like they should, and the armor abilities add tons of replayability to the game.

I never understood why Halo 3 was such a disappointment. I loved it. I thought the story was very well crafted and carried out very well. Halo: Reach, on the other hand, was quite disappointing.

Not once did I feel as if the story was building to any big climax. While the action was well done, I was let down by the lack of pace-changing settings. It just felt like more-of-the-same throughout most of the campaign.

And I understand that Reach was a snuff game, but to have Noble 6 (The player's character) refuse to get on a Pelican with Captain Keyes which would save him, he decided to stay behind...knowing full-well he'd die...there is no excuse for that kind of lazy story writing. Not for Bungie. And for this being their last Halo installment, I expected more.
@styx i hear you on that front, thing is bungie didnt write the story they just modified it abit from one of the halo books, mainly the one called Halo: The Fall Of Reach.

But yeah the ending could of be done a little better i belive, saying that though i thought the lone wolf mission at the end was quite awsome with 3 other players on legendary lol

Similar to all the Star Wars Expanded Universe novels, Bungie gave a specific set of guidelines to all the book authors, including the author of Fall of Reach.

No, they didn't craft the entire narrative, but Bungie was still in control over the direction of the story.

I think the ending was good, especially when you see master chief in the cryo stasis chamber <3

I found the multiplayer to be quite fun, minus about 10 missions where the other team camped in various locations so that no matter which way you tried to get them, you would 8 times out of 10 die. But the maps are well thought out and definatly enjoyable. As for the campaign, everyone knew it would end with Reach falling as that is the point. Some of the missions weren't too fun such as the one where you fly the Falcon around the city, but the others made up for it. As for the end where Six didn't get into the Pelican, all I can think of is the team was to protect Reach with their lives, and so thats why they stayed. I think I prefered the book however.

The rank system could've been better, instead of going up when you recieve credits win or lose, I feel it would've been better if the losing team didn't recieve any. That way rank would be based on skill more so than it is now.
