According to an article found at kotaku.com/..., Xbox's new Live gameshow 1 vs 100 may start to charge people to play it.

If you head to the xbox.com/en-US/live/1vs100/... and click the small boxes next to the Schedule panel, you will notice that it now states that the Beta season is free with your Gold Membership - does this mean that once the Beta season is over we will be expected to pay?

Some say that it will only require Silver accounts to pay to play and that Gold accounts will still be free but until Microsoft comments on the matter, I'm putting my money on there being some sort of seasonal fee for this - after all they would be giving us a lot of free achievements if what has been said about them is true.

Personally if we will be expected to pay for this then eventually no-one will ever play it, we pay enough for our memberships as it is without incurring additional costs for something that was promised to us for free.

Take for example the upcoming free game Joy Ride... it's free but we will have to pay for extra content for it such as extra vehicles etc.

If this only applies to silver accounts then so be it, thats their fault but asking gold members to pay would be asking way too much and will totally ruin the whole concept. Perhaps this might explain the elusive 'VIP membership' rumour that has been floating around - user's can pay to be VIP and then be allowed unlimited access.

I can see this being the sort of thing MS would do for money, and since they are promising achievements, people are going to be able to rack up some points quite easily by playing it - so they will more than likely make us pay.

Meh, I wouldn't pay for it. It just isn't worth it, no matter how cheap they make it. While I had a bit of fun on the demo, it wasn't nearly good enough for me to run out and buy. It seems like something I'd only do on boring days/when I had a bunch of friends online any way.

Us brits haven't even had a chance to play the demo yet, but then again I do have an american account so I did play for a few mins but got kicked out and couldn't join again - perhaps they spotted I was from the UK?

But yeah I agree, I'll play the beta when it hits but if I have to pay they can stick it. I really only wanted it for my girlfriend and my family they'd probably enjoy it more than me.
