Pre-orders for Call of Duty: Black Ops are outpacing those of its predecessor Modern Warfare 2 as Treyarch's Cold War shooter is set to shift 12 million units in the months following its November release. That mighty number seems to show that this isn't just the other Call of Duty game anymore.
The figure - culled from estimates by analyst Evan Wilson of Pacific Crest Securities - is still shy of the 16 million that Modern Warfare 2 shifted over the Christmas period last year, but it's a sign that headshots and killstreaks will once again dominate the festive period.
Treyarch is taking the reins for Call of Duty: Black Ops, and it's all looking mighty impressive so far. Their E3 footage showed a fast-paced, heart-pounding, and gun-crazy game which showed how passionate Treyarch is to get their title back on solid ground. This isn't the other Call of Duty game anymore by the looks of footage and numbers...this is THE Call of Duty game.
