So before everybody starts saying, OMG DONT BASH WHAT YOU DONT KNOW!!!.

I'm not going to bash Kinect, from what I have seen of it over the last few years some parts of it as astounded me while others have made me think meh.

What I am here to talk to you guys today though is the games that will be coming out for Kinect and my views on whether or not games companies are just going to try and cash in on Kinect or not with the average Wii shovel ware crap.

So the main reason why I want to discuss about this topic is the story that as got everybody peed off with Microsoft and that is Joy Ride or as we now have to call it Kinect Joy Ride.

This was announced at E3 2009 as a FREE to download and play game with friends over Xbox Live, but since Kinect was announced Joy Ride as we all know dropped off the radar with not word from Microsoft on the subject until this years E3.

At this years E3 it was then announced that Joy Ride would be riding in on a new name which would be Kinect Joy Ride and as we all know and you have guessed this would now implement Kinect support.

At hearing the news on this I was like, Oh okay then well it sucks to know it's not free anymore, but as long as it stays an arcade download for say 800 or 1200 Microsoft Points then I'm sure a hell of a lot of people will still download it.

Now imagine what I thought after looking around on the internet to discover that in fact Kinect Joy Ride will be Game 1 on both the Kinect Launch Line Up but also the first Xbox 360 game to use Kinect.

Reason for this is simple it was the first announced i.e. back at E3 2009.

So I noticed it would now sell as a retail game with a price tag on SHOPTO.NET of 45.99, now I know aswell as many others shopto sell games on preorder cheaper then other places to get more buys.

With this, it means Kinect Joy Ride aswell as all the other Kinect Launch games will retail in stores such as Game and Gamestop at 50 which i think roughly turns around to maybe $70+.

Now for a game which was supposed to be an arcade game and more importantly free this seems like such a massive price hike for something which as only really been adapted to use Kinect.

Which now also brings me onto another Launch Game that being THQ's The Biggest Loser, a 20 game for WII will now be a 50 game for Xbox 360.

So my question stands as games companies cashing in on Kinect because they know they can. Yeah I'm sure some of the games will be awesome, but some games which will be merly ports of Wii games with maybe updated graphics seems a bit harsh to charge so much more for.

Yes I know Kinect games will drop in price over time like everything does after launch but for now this just seems very unfair on the consumer and for a product that none of us for sure really know if it does what its supposed to do.

Let me know what you think and be fair as this was just my opinion

the story that Has got everybody peed off I think you missed the H. You should read twice before posting :)

I know how you feel cause I do the same. I also checked prices time ago, etc. Let me say Kinect looks like a holy piece of godsent goodness as tech stuff but its games are a damn piece of hellbent crap by the looks, plus they want us to pay like games like gears of war 3. This is madness I yell.

They can do it two ways: three in fact:

Crappy but fun for short periodes of time casual party (mini)games

Real games with well implemented kinect mechanics.

The third one is just a variant from the last; real games with awfully implemented kinect, like sony did with their failure known as sixaxis (shake controller from time to time in resistance fall of man)

I don't like racing games, but have kinect to scan your feet so you push the pedal to the metal or brake; scan your face so the camera kindly moves a bit to the side so you can see who's coming after you in the mirror; move your hand to manually swap...

Do that in a forza motorsport game engine with its graphics and call it what you want (kinect fun fun driving krazee monkees); people will wet their pants and buy it like crazy.

I do agree that it kind of stinks waiting to hear more about a free game called Joy Ride, only to find out that its going to now use kinect and cost the same as a full retail game at $59.99.
Microsoft is well known for these kinds of things though, where they start something and don't fully follow through on it. Take a look at the most recent being Xbox Live Primetime... What the hell happend to 1 Vs 100, or any other game show that they were going to have.

I think though it is still very early to pass any judgment on what Joy Ride will be like. Sure at the time that it was going to be free and only an arcade game it had little to nothing to offer. But now with it being a full priced game, maybe we will see some full retail features.

Extra! extra! read all about it!

Did you know an INDIE GAME called avatar crazy karts (have to check the actual name) just came out?

It's basically a side scroller racing game (you can still go into the 3rd dimension a bit) featuring avatars and... well avatar stunts.

If you come to think about it, this feels like a cheap ass fan made rip off joy ride but damn, I love how INDY DEVELOPERS came out with this earlier than microsoft game studios (MSGS from now on).

Absolute love how it feels like they summoned a little goblin that ran into MSGS and BLAM! kicked them in the nuts; hilarious.

The game can be found under indie games new arrivals, its priced at 80 points and do feature the use of anaglyph 3D glasses. Not as good as Invincible Tiger's but still the panels pop up to you a bit if using the propper glasses.

The game is fun for few moments, give it a try :)
