This comes around onto the internet today after the CEO of activision said not to rule this out within the near future.

I find this way hard to believe but then again it is something that could actually come true... but I don't think that CoD will sell out the one thing they have going for there games... after all its the multiplayer which keeps people coming back to the CoD games...

If its not an MMO then what the hell are they thinking!? I love the Tryarch Call of Duty games but charging an extra fee for something that isn't a compleat MMO is out of the question for me. I know for a fact that many people will complain about this, and I am sure that the same people complaining will be the people paying. But for me, no thanks... I have enough fun playing the SP of the game, I do play MP but after a few weeks i get burnt out on it.
Hahahahaha relax everybody. No game company is that crazy!

LOL

If they end up charging users don't expect to avoid those payments just for being Microsoft's Loyal Customer...er... I meant GOLD Live member.

I can tell cause look what's happening with EA. We still pay for online play but EA has TOTAL CONTROL of their titles, meaning they only let you play on their dedicated servers and they have the killswitch for that so when they don't want you playing online anymore to that given title, they just push the button.

As I previously said, we are still paying to play online but EA keeps doing that and microsoft never ever did a damn thing about it. The solution would be as simple as letting people to host EA's online games once dedicated servers dissapear but hey that's way too much effor to microsoft to do so.

Bottom line is:

If activision are serious about charging for play, they'll do and unless it has anything to do with the new MS-Activision partnership on exclusives, it won't matter on wich plattform you'll play.

IMHO it's a great move; I know there are a lot of complainers about COD series out there but they are hooked to it like crack (to the point of selling RDR at the equivalent of 1200 points just to buy the new maps).

They know their main audience are people who even not willing to pay per maps nor online play they'll end up doing so, why not charging them ? Activision's business not a garage based hobby club.

If they do this, say hello to your new FPS leaders, Medal of Honor and Battlefield. That is TRASH to do with your customers. Not like they don't make enough money already from the millions that buy their games and such!
